My Services

I am an OFSTED registered childminder, and a mother of two. Being a mother for the past 23 years has given me the most valuable experience in my opinion to be a successful childminder, as I have bags of patience and lots of fun and exciting ideas to give your child the brightest of beginnings.

My Husband Stuart, works as my Childminding Assistant. He is registered with Ofsted to work with children, he has completed his Paediatric First Aid training and Safeguarding training, also he is currently studying towards his level 3 childcare diploma.

Stuart and I have both had the Disclosure and Barring check (previously known as CRB), I am also trained in Paediatric First Aid, I have completed the Home based Childminding Course, known as CYPOP 5, and a level 3 diploma in working with children. I have also completed an Accreditation in Hygge in the early years, this really impacts on how I work with children. We love to feel cozy, calm and incorporate nature into every day of learning. We love to play with real resources and treasures as opposed to plastic pretend toys. I have certificates in Food Hygiene and Safety, in Health and Safety, in Risk Assessments, in Manual Handling and I have attended the Fire Safety Course for Childminders. I also regularly attend many training sessions as a way to improve and develop myself and my service to you and your little ones.
I am a member of the Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY). I am also fully insured through them.
We follow the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage, so the planned activities that I do with the children under 5 (early years) will be covering the seven areas of learning and development: Communication and language, Physical development, Personal, social and emotional development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the world, and Expressive arts and design.

We ensure your children are stimulated, and that their activities, both adult and child led, are adapted to your their interests and needs. We teach your children through play. We will observe their development and record these observations in an online system I use called Babysdays, which you are able to see at any time as you will have your own log in details. 
Our days will be filled with not only planned activities, but also free play, arts and crafts, baking, music, garden play, outings and attending groups where your children can socialize with a wider range of children and make more friends. 

My usual working hours are 8am till 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8am till 2:30pm on a Friday, however I can be flexible so please just ask.
My standard rate is £5.00 per hour for the early years children, however I reduce this to £3.75 per hour for school aged children on inset days and school holidays.

We also offer before and afterschool care for children who attend Riverbeach Primary School, this is charged at £4.50 per hour (minimum 1 hour before school and 2 hours afterschool). Dinner can be provided for an extra charge for both school children and early years children.
